November 10, 1940 - February 12, 2024

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jan Land on February 12, 2024 in White Rock, BC.

Jan was born in Fairview, Alberta, the second eldest of seven children. In 1953 the family moved to Okanagan Centre, BC. On graduating from Rutland High she worked at Simpson Saw Mill before joining Ian in Australia, where he had been for a year. Jan took a job as a probation officer working with women in the corrections branch.

In 1962 Jan and Ian were married in Hobart, Tasmania. In 1967 they returned home and settled in White Rock. Jan continued her career as a probation officer assisting many individuals with her compassion and strength, until retirement in August 2001.

Jan made many good friends while vacationing at Rancho Mirage and through many travels around the globe on cruising adventures with Ian. Jan had many good attributes, two of them being her generous and kind nature.

After a full life of 83 years, Jan suffered a stroke and passed away peacefully at Hospice with her husband Ian at her side.

She is survived by, and deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband Ian, four sisters and two brothers, and many extended family and friends.

There will be no service by request.
